Our engineers and technicians have more than 50 years experience in development, flight test, payload support, system development, payload integration, and launch operations. We have participated directly in over 2,000 rocket launches. With ATK Tactical Systems Company, we designed and developed the Oriole sounding rocket, which may also be utilized as a low- or medium-fidelity target.
The University of Queensland's HyShot scramjet engine received one of Time magazine’s "Technology of the Year" awards. It was launched into the atmosphere by our engineers and technicians on board a Terrier-Orion rocket. The two-stage rocket and scramjet payload were integrated, prepared, and launched in Woomera, Australia, in July 2002. We are currently participating in other scramjet projects in the United States and will continue to be a partner in the follow-on HyShot missions over the next five years.
